Molly Haddon
Molly Haddon is a film and theatre director based in Sydney, Australia. In her teens, she worked as a professional actor in various Sydney theatre productions and then went on to study film at Macquarie University. There she fell into cinematography and later completed the Graduate Certificate: Cinematography at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
Haddon decided to combine her cinematography and acting backgrounds and move into directing. Since then she has studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in the Directors Studio program. Over the past few years, Haddon has completed multiple award-winning short films such as “A Conversation” (2019) and began collaborating with Sydney’s indie musicians to create high-end music videos.
In 2021 Haddon directed her first stage play “The Secret of Chimneys” at the historic Genesian Theatre which had a 7 week run of sold-out shows. In 2022 Haddon’s debut feature film “The Longest Weekend” had its world premiere at the prestigious Sydney Film Festival.
With two sold-out sessions “The Longest Weekend” was one of only 15 films given a “Back By Popular Demand” session. The film was also featured at Darwin International Film Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival and was the Australia Feature of the Year at Melbourne Queer Film Festival
